Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) is an organization that grew from an idea to bring together the female members of the law enforcement field from across the province.

It was recognized that many police services within Ontario are either too small or simply do not employ significant numbers of females to form individual organizations. This forum provides an opportunity for members to network and access professional development opportunities. Recognizing that there exists strength in unity and numbers, Ontario Women in Law Enforcement encourages women from each and every police service, and other affiliated law enforcement agencies within the province of Ontario, to collectively address their common interests and concerns. Media Release: Ruling to disallow uniformed police and floats in Toronto Pride Parade

The Executive Board of OWLE are deeply saddened and disappointed with the ruling from Pride Toronto to exclude Police Officers from the Toronto Pride Parade.

We take great pride in the uniform we wear and what it represents. We are all one family and belong to the human race. Creating divide further perpetuates the problem. Pride is all about love and inclusion – we stand together with our brothers and sisters of the LGBTQ Community. We stand together with all LGBTQ Law Enforcement Officers and all members of our Emergency Services and Criminal Justice family.

Don’t let hate and discrimination prevail. Together we can make a difference. We will continue to work together will all our community partners and I am proud of all the great work being done by law enforcement personnel on a daily basis.

Serving with Pride – We stand together with you.

To Brian, Danielle, Jean and the rest of the Serving with Pride Organization – you are doing amazing work and I am very proud of the work you are doing in and for our community. You truly are role models!

Ontario Women in Law Enforcement Commemorative Bracelet:

For years the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) has been aectionately known as OWL. The coveted, hand crafted pewter owl has been incorporated as part of our awards ceremony dating back to the late 1990’s. So, it only made sense that we use an owl to commemorate our upcoming 20th Anniversary. After much deliberation well known jewelry designer Sandra Lewis was commissioned to design a one of a kind commemorative bracelet using Greek Goddess Athena’s owl as inspiration. Sandra has designed a sterling silver charm on a fitted black leather band with a stainless steel magnetic clasp, and an OWLE stamp on the back of each charm. Athena was a goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, and law & justice. Her owl is a symbol of knowledge, wisdom and empowerment.
